So today was Ash Wednesday and marked the beginning of Lent. Although our church doesn't "practice" the ashes and fasting etc., we still like to give something up during this time. This year, Lent will serve two purposes for us. Jeremy and I have decided to give up eating out. As we will be doing this in honor of Him we will also be putting aside the money saved in our adoption fund. I encourage more people to do this! Donate your money to your church, special organizations, anyone in need. I have friends that give up caffeine or chocolate during this time. Money normally spent on that can also be donated. This is such a special time that can be used to grow your relationship with God. Just a thought!
