Progress but no new news...

We are right around Day 45 in our LOA wait. We haven't received any updates from Natalee Grace's orphanage. (off the subject--still determining what to call her i.e. Natalee, Grace, Natalee Grace, etc)

We sent a request for an update on Tuesday night. Last night I received an email to fill out a form for more information and a list of questions. I also wrote a letter this morning. In the email I asked how long the updates typically take so I'm hoping to get a response for timeline soon.

During the Memorial Day sales, Jeremy bought her a playground set for our backyard. He is going to get mulch put down and seal the wood before he puts it up. I'm so excited!!

This weekend I'm going to begin registering for items that I know we will need. My sister is going to beat me if I don't get started now. She's being very proactive and planning ahead!!

We have been selling several tshirts lately so I will probably start placing orders again.

Not much more going on in the baby front!

Much love,

Day 29 of our wait

That's so weird! At times I feel like we are in slow motion but when you look at the big picture, it's moving right along.

Tomorrow will be 30 days since we submitted our LOI. Karla says to expect 90 days to receive our LOA and we are already 30 into it! If we go by the stats on the Internet, a lot of families start seeing a LOA around 75 days. That would be even better.

Maybe we will get an update of her soon. I will request one if we don't receive it after her care package arrives.

I'll keep you updated ASAP!

Much love,

Mother's Day?? Yes! I think I will!

My very first Mother's Day celebrating me as the MOM! I only hope I can be half of the mother that my mom is to me. What a woman! And best friend!

During our wait (LOA wait that could take 75-90 days) I have had time to really think. Uh oh, I know :) I think back to when our journey began. Things were so different, distant. I knew our adoption would take place but didn't truly understand all the details. Even down to the feelings I would have along the way. I am so in love with my daughter through a picture. I can tell you every little detail of her face and not yet touched it. She is my girl! I am blessed to be her mom.

The most awesome feeling of all is to KNOW that God chose us. Those times in PE when a team captain starts choosing his/her team for kickball. Your name is called, you have been chosen to be a vital part of the team. You feel loved, appreciated, most of all proud. That is exactly how I feel! God makes choices when it comes to service and sharing. He uses wonderful situations and difficult situations to guide people towards Him. He chooses His children carefully for every situation. He knew long before Jeremy and I met that we would come together and answer His call. Not only answer but live it, attack it head on through all adversity and shine. We have jumped many hurdles, had so many bumpy roads and (most of the time) held our heads up and followed His lead. What an amazing overwhelming feeling I get to know that I answered Him, trusted Him, and He is pleased. Just know this..... He chooses His children that CAN tackle and grow from that situation. You have the capability of turning it all to good. And you have the capability to answer His call, follow His lead and shine Him through you. Make Him proud and feel joy just like you did for your team captain! Our pastor said on Sunday, "It's not about the elements or environment. It's about the obedience."

The best Mothers Day present is knowing that she's there! I will continue to study her picture to get to know her better. I love her!

Much love and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY,

It's only just begun

Last night we went shopping for items for her care package. We started at a few stores and were unsuccessful. As we made our way to Target I knew our wallet would dwindle quite a bit as our list for this store was large. I "bee-lined" for the baby section. We decided to stick with getting her size 18 m since yesterday was her 18 month bday :) We have no idea what size she is currently wearing so it's a guess. We chose 2 outfits with pants since we aren't sure if she crawling in the floor or not. We also bought her 3 pajamas. 1 set with shorts and pants and the other is an entire outfit with the footies. We chose a blanket hoping it will bring her comfort and Jeremy picked stacking cups as her toy. We picked out a packet of socks too. Since we are providing her with some feel good items we want her to share with her friends. So we picked up some suckers and goodies for them.

Wow! That bill was high! I looked at Jeremy and said..."this is the beginning!"

We left there and went to get thank you presents for her nannies. We have no idea how many she has so we decided to get several lotions and sprays from Bath and Body Works and put them all in a gift bag. She's obviously been cared for deeply and we want them to know how much we appreciate them for loving our angel!

I'll post pics of our package before we send it. It may be a few weeks before (and if) she will receive it. So exciting though!!

Much love,

"I saw yor baby!"

Those were the precious words that I heard from my nephew last week! He called me and also said, "Ish!!! I saw hur!" (yes I misspelled to give you the real affect) We have had an outpouring of calls, messages, and comments. It's amazing to see and hear how much that our sweet girl is already loved.

In the mornings I have to pinch myself and ask...do I really have a daughter, is it true??!!

I haven't been good at blogging lately. Maybe because I've been lost in these.....

Those are all the pics I have of her, promise!

We think, and I'm sticking with that word think, that her name is going to be Natalee Grace Farley. We would like to incorporate her Chinese name somehow. I'm checking on that. We are currently in the process of preparing a care package to send to her orphanage. I worked on the photo album of our family pictures, pictures of her dog, and our home. Tonight we shop!

Btw- yard sale was fabulous! A humungous THANK YOU to all of my family! I could not have made it either weekend without them. I also want to thank SO many of our friends that donated and came by! We are still counting and selling (Aunt Lisa is still selling baby clothes) but we were just over $2600 on Saturday! That is amazing! We are very blessed!

Much love,
